Assistant Professor – Multimedia and Graphic Arts
Andri Ioannou (female)is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts (MGA) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and director of the Cyprus Interaction Research Lab (CIL), undertaking research on Educational Technology and Social Computing. Andri has a PhD in Educational Technology from the University of Connecticut (USA, 2009) and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2003). Her research interests include educational robotics and STEM education, design and evaluation of technology-enhanced learning environments, use of technology to support student collaboration, decision making, and knowledge creation in both distant and collocated settings in all levels of education. Andri has been the principal investigator of the “Creative Multimodal Information Spaces for PBL” (2012-2014), designed to explore innovative, multimodal information spaces for the support of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in design courses in higher education. Andri currently participates as a researcher in two funded Horizon 2020 projects on topics relevant to Instructional Technology and Social Computing: RISE 2015-2016 – H2020 Teaming and NOTRE 2015-2016 – H2020 Twinning. Previously, Andri has worked on two multi-million funded projects designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning by improving teacher education programs at colleges and universities in USA. In her young research career, Andri’s publication record includes more than 50 articles in prestigious refereed journals and fully-refereed conference proceedings and over 60 conference presentations and extended abstracts in respectable international conferences. Andri has a strong international network and collaborations with faculties in several universities in Europe and USA. She has also supervised several PhD students and postdocs on the WE-ME 2014-2015, InfoSpaces 2012-2014, and PeaceTable 2011-2013 projects.
