Nicolas Tsapatsoulis graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the National Technical University of Athens in 1994 and received his Ph.D degree, in Image Analysis and Synthesis, in 2000 from the same University. In January 2008 he joined the department of Communication and Internet Studies (CIS) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) where he is currently an Associate Professor. His current research interests include multimedia information retrieval, biometrics and security, image image analysis and synthesis and collective intelligence applications. Dr. Tsapatsoulis’ publication record includes two edited books, 31 papers in scientific international journals, one paper in a national scientific journal, 39 book / book series chapters, 74 papers in conference proceedings and four abstracts in workshops – conferences. His work has been recognized worldwide as indicated by more than 2500 independent citations (3300 total citations according to Scholar Google). He is the recipient of two best paper awards in international conferences (CPSCom’16, ACE’12).
